The messenger released an update that includes a "gifts" feature. Users can now send animated images to each other and pay for them with "Stars" (Telegram's internal currency). The recipient can add the "gift" to their profile or exchange it for a portion of its value in "stars."
Telegram also launched a platform for sending confirmation codes, allowing companies, websites, or applications to verify customer phone numbers. Codes will be sent directly in the messenger, and payment can be made via the Fragment platform, with the cost being $0.01 per user.
The Android app has added support for live streaming in RTMP mode. Users can generate keys and manage video streams using popular streaming software like OBS Studio or XSplit Broadcaster.
The iOS app has improved video chat functionality. Now they consume fewer resources and battery, and they do not overheat the device.
The content reporting menu has new categories: "Scam or Spam" and "Phishing."
