Jony Ive's LoveFrom and Japanese brand Balmuda have released a portable marine lantern for $4800
1000 units will be available for sale.

- The Sailing Lantern weighs about 1.5 kg. It is made from polished stainless steel with a gold-plated guard for the LED lamp. The latter is made of textured glass with an 'electroplated coating'.
- On top, there is a polyester strap resistant to salt, oil, and ultraviolet light.
- The device is water and dust resistant to the IP67 standard (it can withstand submersion in water up to 1 meter deep). It is 'easily' disassembled and designed for recycling at the end of its service life.
- The lantern's light resembles the 'warmth of a flame' in a kerosene lamp, according to the creators. The brightness and hue can be controlled with a dial.
- The lithium battery provides up to 150 hours of continuous operation at minimum brightness and up to four hours at maximum. A USB-C cable is required for charging.

- Jony Ive said that he has been passionate about sailing since childhood and wanted to design a lantern specifically for marine conditions.
- The lantern will be released in a limited edition of 1000 units. It will be sold in Balmuda stores in Japan and the US, as well as online with delivery to Korea and Europe. The price is $4800.
- The package includes a lanyard, a user manual, and a cleaning cloth.
