Originally launched as a separate Android app in February 2024, the Gemini chatbot app is currently available for download in the Philippines, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and India. MacRumors reports that other regions will have access in the future.

Google has now released a standalone Gemini app for iOS. Previously, iPhone users could access Gemini through a dedicated tab in the standard Google app, but with limited functionality.

The app introduces several enhanced features:

    • Gemini Live AI Assistant: Capable of holding open-ended conversations on a variety of topics.
    • Integration with Dynamic Island: The chatbot can appear on the iPhone's Dynamic Island and lock screen, allowing interaction even when the screen is locked.
  • Gemini Advanced Subscription: Users can subscribe to Gemini Advanced, which includes additional functionalities:
    • Integration with Google Docs and Gmail.
    • Access to the experimental Gemini 1.5 Pro model.
    • The subscription is part of the Google One AI plan, priced at $19.99 per month. This plan is currently unavailable in Russia.

The app's expansion to iOS provides iPhone users with more seamless access to Google's AI features.
