This Motherboard with 36 USB Ports Is a Connectivity Dream

It seems you can never have too many USB ports—if you could, USB hubs wouldn't exist. However, a Reddit user recently challenged this notion by showcasing motherboards packed with an astonishing 36 USB ports each.

Designed for a Specific Purpose

The video, likely filmed in a factory or warehouse, shows stacks of these highly unusual boards. They are clearly not for the average consumer but are custom-modified OEM products built for specific, high-density tasks.

This kind of specialized hardware is often used in large-scale operations where massive parallel connectivity is essential.
  • Device Farms or Call Centers: Connecting dozens of phones or other devices simultaneously for testing or operations.
  • Large-Scale Testing: Running quality assurance on a massive number of USB devices at once.
  • Cryptocurrency Mining: Certain mining operations rely on arrays of USB-powered hardware.

Surprisingly Standard Internals

Despite the extreme I/O, the board's core components are quite conventional. It features an Intel LGA 1151 socket, compatible with Skylake and Kaby Lake era processors. The board is also equipped with two RAM slots, a stock CPU cooler, and even retains a PCIe slot for a graphics card.

For a typical home computer, 36 USB ports is definite overkill. Even after plugging in a full suite of peripherals—headset, mouse, keyboard, gamepad, and a Stream Deck—you'd still have an abundance of ports to spare. At least you would never, ever have to worry about running out.
