Recraft Surpasses Midjourney and OpenAI in Generation Quality in Hugging Face’s User Ratings

Recraft has introduced the Recraft V3 image creation model. Previously known under the code name "red_panda," this neural network has outperformed Midjourney, Stable Diffusion 3.5 Large Turbo, and OpenAI in the Artificial Analysis ranking on Hugging Face, where users can evaluate the quality and speed of various generation services.

One of the model’s advantages is its high anatomical accuracy and realistic proportions, according to the developers. For example, the neural network is better at generating the correct number of fingers on hands.
AI enables the creation of vector images with the ability to export in SVG format for application icons.

Recraft V3 can generate long text on images—a task that is typically challenging for neural networks. It also allows users to specify the size and placement of text, add other images, and combine them with captions. Visual elements can be edited using AI tools such as an eraser, area modification, and background removal.

Recraft has also released an API that allows companies to integrate AI into their workflows and generate images with a consistent style.

The application is available for free without any generation limits. The company warns that images are the property of Recraft and are displayed in the gallery on the website. To use them for commercial purposes, a subscription must be purchased.

The startup Recraft was founded in 2022 by Anna Veronica Dorogush, the former head of Yandex’s machine learning systems development department. The company has raised $12 million from the former head of GitHub, Khosla Ventures, Basis Set Ventures, and other major investors.
